The Research And Development For Product Data Management System Of Small And Micro Motor Manufacturers

PDM (Product Data Management) is an idea or technology, which takes information technology as the basis, and products as the core, to achieve integrated management of data, processes and resources. It is also an important part of manufacturing information. The paper comes from the National Science and Technology Support Program,"the Comprehensive Application Demonstration of Manufacturing Informatisation on the Support Pillar Industry in Zhejiang Province" The paper took Zhejiang Shengzhou medium and small sized motor enterprises as the object, researched and developed PDM system for small and micro manufacturers, providing viable information technology solutions for those which put too much on manufacturing, while too less on design, had little technology and standardized management, and lacked of professional, as well.Firstly, the paper introduced the status of PDM technical research and systems, as well as enterprise applications, and pointed out the existing PDM systems were mainly suitable for information technology in medium-sized manufacturers, with some characteristics as follow, expensive, powerful, high common level and long implementation cycle, etc. It was difficult to apply those systems in our nation, with so many small and micro manufacturers.Secondly, combined with the PDM method and technology, the paper established the product model, data model and product data management model for small and micro motor manufacturers, based on the analysis of the content and goal of small and micro motor manufacturers using PDM system. And it explored the key technology, such as data management, access control and process management as small and micro motor manufacturers implementing PDM system.Thirdly, the paper carried out PDM systems needs analysis for small and micro motor manufacturers, proposed the PDM system framework, which focused on products, chart documentation and workflow, and gave the functional model and information model of PDM system. It also elaborated implementation of product management, document management and workflow management modules, and showed some operation examples of the system.Finally, the paper summarized the research and development work, and prospected research direction.
