Global illumination rendering is computationally intensive, time-consuming and realis-tic. Because of these features, research topics on global illumination are always hot. of which most are based on CPU. GPU with its ever-increasing general purpose parallel computational ability offers more possibilities for global illumination. Based on nowadays advanced CPU render technologies, this article puts forward a GPU-based progressive relaxation method which can achieve a high-quality faster. This article researches GPU photon emitters, accelerated with BVH trees on GPU. transfers progressive relaxation algorithm to parallelization strategies, and extended to scenes with participating media. The algorithm has many advantages, view independent, control-lable in storage and efficient in rendering. Also, it produces blue noise images. By integrating with RenderAnts Pro system, this algorithm implements the efficient rendering of complex caustics and volume caustics in high qualities.
