In recent years, with increasingly extensive usage of electrotechnical experiment platforms in related laboratory teaching in colleges, the safety problems exposed in these experience are also increasingly prominent. This triggered some research and improvement work on the safety of the electrotechnical experiment platform by relevant equipment manufacturers and university teachers, though no substantial improvement has been done. Since the existing electronic switch technology, FPGA real-time signal processing and data communication technology have achieved great success, it is possible to solve the safety problem of the electrotechnical experiment platform.This study is mainly on the short-circuit fault locating method in the AC circuit experiments and the immediate circuit-breaking protection method using AC electronic switches. Furthermore, real-time monitoring signal acquisition and analysis can be conducted, and then the safety monitoring system can be developed. This study is aiming at the urgent needs of safety monitoring system in actual electrotechnical experiment platform, thus it has a good promotion value.
