Research And Implement Of Computer Network Fault Locating In Campus

Network management is a procedure of controlling a running network in order to get a better efficiency. Network fault management is one of the most important functions in network management. Fault locating is an essential part of network fault management. Fault locating and fault identifying have become very difficult in network management today. The article researches SNMP and some parts related close to fault information in it. It proposes an idea of voluntary poll in network based on Trap and implements it, and implement the asynchronous transmission technology in network. It makes use of the database about historical trap data and historical fault data to propose an idea of creating rule database, optimize the arithmetic and implement it. Then it makes the reasoning mechanism base on the rule database. The thesis does some research on the updating arithmetic on the rule database and the relation of the elements in the rules to get the effective rules.
