With the explosive growth of data services, LTE-based fourth-generation mobile communication technologies have been rapidly developping, each country’s telecom operators begin large-area networking, Because the resources for deployment are limited, co-channel network has become an inevitable choice. As OFDM technology using in LTE, ICI(inter-cell interference) is more serious problem. How to protect the overall system performance while reducing inter-cell interference, especially to improve the performance of cell edge users, is the focus of this study.This thesis firstly introduces the LTE system ICIC(inter-cell interference coordination) scheme evaluation strategies and key performance indicators to provide a theoretical analysis and system simulation performance evaluation method. Then the thesis introduces interference control technology classification which can understand the advantages of ICIC. Through the mathematical analysis of interference model, we know the basic principles of frequency reuse schemes. The thesis mainly presents two static frequency reuse schemes SFR scheme and FFR scheme, including the basic principles and implementation methods. The dynamic interference coordination scheme is briefly presented.Through the description of the relationship of interference coordination technology and power control, scheduling technology and other key technologies, we point out that a good inter-cell interference solution should consider the power control scheme and resources scheduling scheme. We have evaluated the performances of two static frequency reuse schemes(SFR、FFR) with practical Max C/I and pratical PF scheduling algorithm on the LTE system level simulation platform. After simulation, the thesis pointed out the advantages and disadvantages of the two schemes, the impacts on the overall performance of the schemes in some of the key parameters. The simulation results show that the overall performance of the SFR scheme is better than the FFR scheme’s. And the SFR scheme can be semi-static which is more flexible. All the discussion is significative to really network construct.Finally concluded the work and inadequacies which should be studied in the followed work.
