With the rapid development of multi-media information technology, those who need professional material continually request the material itself and the material providing platforms have higher quality and better user experience.Some Global well-known companies such as3DKingdom and Dosch Design have established some3D material database systems, majorly composed of online3D material, which are outstanding in material quantity, quality and operation mode. Famous websites of its kind in China are3Dcool.net and3Dxia.com. However, the3D material of most companies like Autodesk and Turbo Squid are all showed by means of words plus static pictures, which can’t reflect the interactivity and multi-angle visibility features of3D material.To establish the3D material database system based on WEB will resolve the problems of sharing and reusing3D material resource for small and medium sized digital media enterprises; improve the usage level and usage ratio of digital media3D material; reduce the redundant work during digital media3D material production; provide a better production environment for digital media industries such as games and movies and improve digital media industry productivity. All above strengths are important to stimulate digital media industry development. On the other hands, researches aiming to successfully establish digital media3D material database in certain fields including massive and unstructured data storage and searching, resources information management and organization, copyright protection and quick search set examples for other technology study in relevant industries. Therefore, the study results not only have academic value but also have solid application value.By means of establishing digital media3D material database, we can provide a digital media integrated platform of games, cartoons and entertainment for our digital media industry and make it possible for3D material to be showed in a real-time3D way under Web environment and be viewed interactively. We should make the database become a prototype application for virtually reality technology based on Web and one of the basic support platforms for digital media technology industrialization development in China.
