In recent years, with the continuous development of mobile communication technology,mobile phone users’ demand for high quality data and voice services become increasinglystrong. The quality of indoor coverage has become an important consideration factor whenusers choose a telecommunications operator. As a new technology, Femto was considered tobe an effective means to improve the indoor coverage; Femto is a kind of home base stationequipment, which is mainly used at indoor places such as homes and offices. It can satisfysmall area coverage at considerably low transmit power. Femto is simple-structured and lowcost, it can significantly improve the quality of indoor communication and provide high-speeddata services. Consequently, the major equipment manufacturers and telecommunicationsoperators have invested heavily to develop and popularize Femto technology.This thesis is based on a laboratory-enterprise cooperation project called "TD-SCDMAenterprise-class Femto system research and development". The goal of the project is todevelop TD-SCDMA enterprise-class Femto systems, which is based on third generationmobile communication standard TD-SCDMA, meeting commercial standards.This thesis first gives a brief analysis of the TD-SCDMA standard physical layerdownlink protocols, including the encoding/multiplexing, modulation, spreading, andphysical channel mapping process, then introduces the DSP hardware platform and real-timeBIOS operating systems.Then there is a detailed analysis of the function requirement. Basedon the result of the analysis, the thesis presents a detailed design scheme of the pivotalmodules, such as business modules, interface module, monitoring module and datatransmission module, then implements the TD-Femto physical layer downlink subsystem byputting all these mudules together.Software testing is an important method to ensure software reliability. The thesis lastlygives test results of the TD-Femto physical layer downlink subsystem, which shows that thedesign of the TD-Femto downlink physical layer subsystem can meet all the basic functionrequirements, yet the actual performance in complex application scenarios is to be furtherverified.
