With the increasing vehicle population, road congestion and parking difficulties havebecome a problem in urban. The narrow space and the blind area of car bring great difficultiesfor parking. Panoramic view parking system emerged in this context, and the purpose is tohelp the driver operate safer in the car. The system installs multiple wide-angle cameras indifferent location of the car body. A series of image processing for multiple images can obtaina seamless panorama and top view stitching image, and the display of stitching image on theLCD screen allows the driver to see the scene around the vehicle.The panorama view parking system algorithm has been studied in the thesis. The mainresearch work is as follows:(1) Wide-angle camera is calibrated by Zhang Zhengyou calibration method.(2) The top view of image is transformed by DLT (Direct1inear tranformation).(3) Four top view of images is stitched by SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform).(4) For stitching gaps, an improved fusion algorithm of the weighted average is presentedand is used to eliminate the stitching gaps.The feasibility of the panorama view parking system algorithm is verified byExperimental results.
