In recent years, with the increase enrollment in colleges and universities in China,the pressure on the students’ management, especially on the teaching administration andstudent affairs is increased. In the face of the increasing information, the traditionalmanagement mode is insufficient. At this time, a more efficient student informationmanagement system is required to improve the management efficiency, so as to satisfythe need of the college student management at the new situation.This new student information management system must possess the platformintegration characteristics, based on which, the standardization of informationmanagement, the scientific statistics and the fast search can be achieved.In this thesis, firstly, by analyzing the development status of domestic and foreigndigital campus, the typical workflow of college student information management systemis concluded. By conducting demand analysis and system analysis,and according to thecharacteristics of student management in Chengdu University, where I’m working, atpresent, the software of student management system is designed to be comprised of ninefunction modules, including the user management, student management, curriculummanagement, score management, export information, and so on. Based on this, everymodule is developed.The job mainly consists of the front application proceduredevelopment and the back stage database establishment: System development usesVB.NET, SQL server completes the overall plan of database system. For furtherapplication of this system,an inquiry function software is also developed.At present,system development has been initially completed, be in the stage of constant adjustmentand improvement. The primary coverage of the thesis is as follows:The first chapter describes the research background, significance, application valueand the domestic and foreign research situation briefly; The second chapter introducesthe characteristics of Visual Basic and SQL Server, and several mainstreamstructures of the information management systems in recent years. Based on the analysisof various kinds of system development technologies and the architecture of smartphone,the system architecture, the tools of database storage and the tools of the mobile phoneplatform are proposed; The third chapter introduces the feasibility and requirementanalysis, including the system investigation, design analysis and function description; The fourth chapter elaborates the design procedure and the applied techniques of thewhole information management system. By analyzing the demand of the generalfunctions of the system, the appropriate technology is selected, and the proper optionsand solutions are made. The application of tools and techniques in the developmentprogress lays a foundation for both the computer system and the mobile phone system.The SQL Server database management system is used to adjust and optimize the datamodel, establishing a database of student information management effectively andreasonably; In the fifth chapter, the process of the system implementation and test areintroduced in detail, the goals and duties in the system implementation stage areprovided, and the solution to the system is proposed according to the systemqualification; In the sixth chapter, the project is summarized, the developing directionand the future work are pointed out.The student information management system developed in the thesis has thecharacteristics of user-friend, simple operation, and convenient maintenance. It hasrealized the lots of functions, such as student and teacher records management,curriculum management, score management, the data add, search, deletion andmodification. Through the data import, export and analysis, the efficiency of theteaching administration can be improved.
