As the development of ocean resource become more important, the underwater acousticcommunication technology has made a big progress under the concern to many countries.Under this background, the underwater acoustic network communication technology hasmade more and more attention for it’s great potential application value.Because of the large number of communication machines and the complexity of protocol,the cost of experiments has gone up. If one can move the test in to lab, the cost could decrease.So it is meaningful if there is a kind of software that can test communication devices andnetwork protocols in lab condition.This paper has designed a software program of underwater acoustic networkingcommunication environment simulation with VC++6.0. The program has the function ofsimple underwater acoustic channel simulation and network communication among multiplecommunication devices. And it can be divided in to two parts, one is the node imitationsoftware program and another is display and control program. The first one is designed toprovide communication platform to devices. The program transforms analog signals ofdevices to digital signals through the way of sound card sampling. In the software, it transmitsdata from each other through computer network. At the same time, the channel impulseresponse and Gaussian white noise will be add to the signal. In this way, the real situation ofunderwater signal transmission can be simulated in some degree. The second one governs allthe connection process of node imitation program, and it makes use of a sound fieldcalculation software name Bellhop to calculate channel response data. And then send thesedata to node software to do subsequence processing. At the same time, it displays thetopological structure of the whole network. In the end of this paper, a test was made to theprogram and the result affirms that it runs well.
