The underwater sensor node is the hardware support of the underwater sensor networks,responsible for underwater sensor network data acquisition and communications. Develop theunderwater nodes of low cost, low power, low bit error rate, small size, close transmission andhigh communication speed has a significant role in promoting the development of underwatersensor networks. Due to the complexity of the underwater acoustic channel, make underwateracoustic communication node performance testing more difficult. Using the simulationsoftware to simulate the underwater network environment, and communication equipmentcommunicate with the software, it can pre-verify the performance of communicationsequipment, and reduce research costs. This paper focuses on the underwater acousticcommunication network nodes and the simulation of the underwater acoustic channel.This paper adopts hierarchy method, and divided the underwater acousticcommunication network into the physical layer, data link and network layers, mainly realizedthe design of the data link layer management board program, with VS2005as a developmenttool, ARM6410as the development platform, and then test each management function of theprogram, and laid the foundation for the subsequent underwater acoustic communicationnetwork fully functional.At the same time, in order to make the performance testing on underwater acousticcommunication networks in a lab environment, this article designs a software to simulate theenvironment of underwater acoustic communication, takes the VC++6.0as a developmenttool, a computer network as the carrier, interconnected through the sound. Underwateracoustic communications equipment through the software to communicate, it can advancevalidation communication equipment performance, and the cost of scientific research. At theend of this paper, the various functions of the software, as well as the performance of theunderwater acoustic communication networks, makes a laboratory test, to verify thefeasibility of the software take performance tests of underwater acoustic communicationnetworks. Meanwhile the software leaves room for perfecting subsequent features.
