The impedance matching network is the important part of the underwater acoustictransmitter, generally between the transducer and the transmitting circuit. The quality ofimpedance matching network design directly affect the performance of the entire transmitter. However, since the transducer shows different impedance characteristics in differentfrequency bands, and the impedance values are fluctuated considerably, which makes acertain difficulty in the design of the impedance matching network, the broadband matchingnetwork design is particularly difficult, this matching network design often requires a lot ofmathematical calculations. This paper is based on the real frequency technique broadband matching network designmethod, designing the impedance matching network which is between the underwateracoustic transmitter and the transducer. Analyzing the real frequency technique’s threedifferent algorithms (real frequency line segment technique, real frequency directcomputational technique, simplified real frequency technique), then doing algorithmsimulation with MATLAB software. Additionally choosing two different types of transducer, respectively designing the impedance matching network with different algorithm, which is indifferent working frequency band and the different orders, besides take the pool experimenttest. After MATLAB simulation and pool experiments, the results show that the realfrequency design of broadband matching network can basically meet the design expectations.
