The21th century is a time of knowledge explosion, and of information explosion.In our daily life and work, a large number of information is produced. Handlinginformation by hand cannot meet the needs of people who eager to learn faster. With thefast developing of database technology, management information system (MIS) is widelyused in governmental agencies, enterprises and institutions, public services and facilities,schools and hospitals. IMS provides reasonable and efficient solutions to support peopledealing with different kinds of information, and IMS also produces many precise data tosupport managers to macroeconomic control and make decisions.School educational administration information management (SEAIM) plays animportant role in carrying out normal teaching and education in polytechnic schools.Meanwhile, SPIM’s approach is getting more and more modern and multivariate.Therefore, it is important to develop new school educational administration informationmanagement system (SEAIMS) which is valuable to each polytechnic schools itself tomanage different situations and operation mode. The theory of MIS is updating toimprove management level and work efficiency by collecting, passing, storing,processing, maintaining and using school educational administration information toformat the MIS.This paper designs and develops Jilin information engineering school’s SEAIM.This system is designed for the main participants in the school education teachingactivities, and provides a series function to support users to manage learning, teachingand researching better. This system’s main functions include user account management,course management, researching management, reward and punishment management,work evaluation management, information distribution management, education resourcemanagement, system management and daily information management. This system isdesigned by C/S and B/S mode, and this system combines idea of software engineeringand features of MIS. This system uses UML object-oriented thinking to analysis demand,design and analyzes system, model and design database. I use Microsoft Visual Studio2005and Microsoft SQL Server2005to develop the system, and I use Spiral Model totest the system. The testing results show that the system realizes the function of designwhich has designed, and the system is running well. The system reaches the design goal.
