The street-lamp system is an important symbol of the city appearance, the intelligencelevel of which represents the economic development level of a city. Power shortage is couplewith the economic development, energy saving becomes an important part of theconservation-oriented society. Traditional controlling and maintaining technology can notmeet the requirement of development. The street luminary remote monitoring system with thecharacteristic of highly automation, reliable, efficient energy saving and easy maintenancewill be an inexorable trend.This thesis aims at the research and development of the street luminary remotemonitoring system framework. The design schema, software simulation and debug are basedon the principle and practicability classification. The control structure is constituted ofIndustrial control computer and programmable logic controller. The monitoring structure isconsisting of power line carrier modem and Ethernet module, which uses the WIFItechnology. The testing part is consisting of microcontroller and photodiode. The softwarecontains main control procedure, communication protocol, data acquisition procedure and soon.The examination experiments are performed at the life testing laboratory of Dalianpolytechnic university and the workshop of Dalian Haiwei group. The result shows that thedesigned software meets the requirement of control system. This thesis is with significantimportance of the improvement of street luminary monitoring system.
