Since the robot appears, humanity’s greatest dream is to make the robot in various areas of their lives instead of their own work, service robots is the completion of this dream. As alternatives human service robot should have the same capabilities and human, of which the most important is to be able to emotional level with the normal exchange. The development of machine intelligence encounter a problem that the traditional artificial intelligence research, an important form of speech emotion recognition functions as an important part of human intelligence, human-robot communication. To make the robot with humanoid intelligent to understand human language, in its judgment, and react accordingly, in order to allow the robot to better serve people, to assume a more important family roles. Therefore, the robot’s speech emotion recognition become a robot technology research hotspot.Local investigators have launched an in-depth research, the establishment of some speech database for each application, which is the basis of the speech emotion recognition. In this paper, on the basis of these studies the robot voice feature extraction and processing, the voice library, proposed the combination of SVM and ANN speech emotion recognition methods for a home service robot platform, and achieved better recognition effect.The first home service robot technology and speech emotion recognition technology. Secondly, the voice-related parameters are described, and the system needs three parameters selected based on the needs of the home service robot speech emotion recognition system, extraction and processing operations, the establishment of the system demand speech database. Finally, we use a combination of methods of SVM and ANN classifier home service robot-based speech emotion recognition system, combined with other modules of the robot to complete the test and application.
