Since the immersion, multi-perceptibility, autonomy, interactivity, andcross-territoriality feature of the virtual reality technology can providing people a vividvirtual scene to make them feel on the scene, it is widely applied in various domainsincluding the education field. With the emerging of informationalized education, digitalcampus comes in to being. During the process of digital campus construction, visualcampus, as the fundamental platform of its development, is the earliest and primaryapplication of visual reality technology into education, but it still lives at the edge offundamental education. Under the guidance of the ontology theory, this thesis isintended to develop a visual school mode supported by the X3D warehouse, in hopingfor providing a visualized interface through which the primary and middle schoolteachers can interact with the X3D warehouse, and realizing intelligent match betweenthe ideas of users and the resources stored in the X3D warehouse to build a virtualcampus mode needed by its users.This thesis is divided into5chapters to state the whole content of the issue, thefirst chapter is an introduction of the background knowledge, present situation, Thesecond chapter lays out the whole idea and design framework, provide a blueprint of thestructure of this research; The third chapter is mainly about the author’s understandingof the ontology theory, the relevant guidelines and approaches of ontic construction, andthe whole ontic construction within this research, for the sake of theoretical sustain andguidance for the follow-up study; The forth chapter explains the related conceptions ofX3D technology, the edition of the operating environment, the technique of construct aX3D model and the display of the X3D model in the research. This makes a specificdescription of the most important work in this research and provide a X3D warehousefor further study.The last chapter mainly introduces the working principle, realized function of the virtual campus-X3D system, and a show of the developmentenvironment, the key techniques and the final effects of the system, which assembledthe whole content of the article and make a conclusion of this thesis.
