With the ceaseless development of semiconductor technology, the feature size of crystal valve inside the integrated circuit is becoming smaller and smaller, the integration level, the speed, and the power dissipation of IC are growing, the voltage of core power is becoming lower and lower, the saltus step of electric current is becoming bigger and bigger, and the problem about power integrity is becoming more and m ore obvious. The major goal of the designing power integrity is to make sure that the impedance of power distribution meets the requirement of target impedance. However, the low-frequency stage impedance that processes the larger part of electric saltus step energy is lacking in systematic test, simulation and design methods.Firstly, this thesis gives a relatively systematic conclusion of the frequency domain impedance of power output. Secondly, this thesis develops a testing system for power output impedance and makes the relative precision promotion. Also, analysis and comparison are made among different simulation models in the industry, methods are provided as for analog simulation and analysis is given in terms of the relationship between power loop and impedance characteristic. Then, taking VR11.1as example, this thesis makes design for low output impedance VRM with output impedance index meeting the requirement of low impedance. Finally, the value of the exploratory work done in this thesis in the field of testing, simulation and design is proven.This thesis makes conclusion and analysis of the study in the field of testing, simulation and power supply design of power output impedance, and the method given in it is proven to be effective by practical design verification. The study in this thesis provides a foundation for further work in studying the application of power output impedance. Meanwhile, it is helpful for the study of the precision promotion of test instrument, low-frequency stage PI simulation on PCB design and the power module design.
