The rapid development of the wireless communications industry brings us huge changes in the past two decades. We can enjoy calling, watching video and Internet surfing at all times. With our increasing demands, wireless network traffic is increasing at a geometric rate. To2015, wireless network traffic will increase10times in the developed country, said by a global telecom software market research firm Analysys Mason. The Network Operators have more and more troubles:How to reduce energy consumption and operating expenses? How to improve the spectrum efficiency and increasing user bandwidth? How an open platform to support multi-standard and smooth evolution? How to support mobile Internet services better?The Virtualization technology on the BTS(Base Transceiver Station) will help solve these problems.The Virtualization Technology is a popular technology in the IT industry. With the Virtualization Technology, users will be able to install multiple operating systems on a single computer hardware. The Virtualization Technology enables concurrent processing of multiple tasks, so as to achieve high-speed processing computing tasks and save computer resources such purposes. The Virtualization technology can be implemented through a very comprehensive business mutual isolation, security classification and control of the data and secure access. It can also achieve dynamic resource deployment and reconfiguration. The virtual resources will provide physical resources unrelated interface and protocol compatibility.In this thesis, the author completed work as follows:1. Based on the principle of Virtualization Technology and classification research, I analyzed the mainstream generic virtualization features and classification. And I have a in-depth research on wireless operator’s specific difficulties.2. With analysis of IT virtualization technology features, I combine with the demand for LTE4G base stations, design of a viable virtualization system implementations on the base station.3. With the design of the base station virtualization programs, I achieve a simplified4G LTE base stations on Virtualization Technology. And I validate virtualization technology at the base station at the feasibility of implementation, and check the performance of virtualization station is reliable.This thesis studies how to use the virtualization technology on the wireless base station. The wireless business and equipment management will be decoupling. The public facilities management of the wireless business will shield base station. And the base station will unify the device management operations. At the same time, a plurality of different modes of business operation in the virtual space independently can flexibly increase or reduce the system without perceiving the existence of other business. The base station will provide third-party software virtualization technology. And it will achieve unified management of multi-mode base station to provide the wireless business a flexible expansion capabilities.
