2μm laser plays an important role in the area of photoelectricity countermeasure and so on. Using785nm laser intermittently pumped double-ended approach, at room temperature, we obtain high pulse energy, high frequency2μm laser. This paper studies the output characteristics of LD intermittent pumped Tm:YAG pulsed laser.The Tm:YAG energy level structure is analyzed, and we established rate equations of pulsed LD intermittent pumped Tm:YAG Q-switched laser, and deduced the output characteristics of the Tm:YAG laser. The theoretical basis contributes to the experiment. Based on theoretical models, the laser doping concentration and length of the crystal are further optimized for resonator design and machine design. Tm:YAG crystal thermal lensing is also studied. Analysis of the change rules between focal length and time, and the method of thermal focal length compensation is presented.Experimental study of LD pumped Tm:YAG pulsed laser output characteristics. Laser spectroscopy,the threshold power and different output characteristics with different injection currents are measured. And the influence factors of output characteristics are analyzed.
