This paper put forward the two dimensional morphology detection method based on FPGA (Field Programmable Gata Array) considering the cost, accuracy, detection speed and maneuverability etc factors, according to the demand for surface contourgraph of domestic automobile gasket manufacturers.In this article, we first narrated the source and solution method of the problem. And then we divided the main job into hardware and software design parts in allusion to the function need to implement. And extended to the circuit and function module of the bottom layer by layer. Finally, we debugged the overall of software and hardware, and carried on the testing experimental verification. The whole system mainly includes data processing, the construction of the digital signal processing system, the design of optical structure and mechanical structure and so on.The measuring results all conform to the requirement though the actual test and the horizontal precision is2.5μm, the longitudinal precision is2μm. At the same time, programmable logic devices can be widely used by small and medium-sized enterprises based on the advantage of intelligent, portability, high precision and low cost and so on. The improvement of testing method can ensure products quality of the enterprises, and it could bring considerable economic and social benefits.
