At present, the space laser communication has become an important research. Because of the high bandwidth, high bit rate, high secrecy and anti-jamming etc has become the new trend of optical communication development. Electro-optical modulation is a key device of laser communication technology and their drives.Study on the main content of this paper:the first is to do a detailed analysis of the electro-optic modulator, first introduced the physical properties of lithium niobate crystals from the theory, and then introduces the structure, the electrode of electro-optic modulator and its electrical characteristics, finally introduces the work principle of electro-optic modulator; second aspects based on drive the technology of electro-optic modulators, simple design of a power amplifier using cascaded multi-stage amplifier, power up to46dBm, driving the work frequency of high-power, high-speed electro-optic modulator500MHz.Finally through experiments to further validate the driver operating characteristics and its working process, through experimental analysis, the driving source design is feasible in theory.
