There are a variety of measurement methods which can realize the gas/solid two phase flow velocity measurement. Electrostatic measurement technology is one of the current research hotspots in the field at home and abroad. Gas/solid flows velocity measurement with high accuracy can be realized by the electrostatic sensor. And the structure and the processing technology are relatively simple; the sensor is cost-effective, so it is suitable for engineering application. In this paper, electrostatic sensor for velocity measurement of gas/solid flows will be researched and optimum designed.The interaction principle between the electrostatic sensor and the two phase flow, and the space sensitivity characteristic is analyzed in this paper. Considering a variety of electrostatic sensor and the idea of array type sensors, electrostatic sensor is designed with a new type of structure. And the corresponding physical model is established. Using COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software, the electrostatic sensitivity characteristic of different sensors is researched. And the factors which can influence the characteristics of electrostatic sensitivity distribution are analyzed, such as the structure and dimension of the sensors or the material properties, etc. Base on the above theories, the gas/solid flow velocity measurement electrostatic sensor will be optimum designed. And the gas/solid flow velocity measurement system needs to be established completely. A high-performance signal conditioning circuit of electrostatic sensor must be designed. Based on correlation algorithm, the software program is compiled to process the measurement data and the speed of the flow is calculated. Finally analogue experiment is carried out to verify the theories of different electrostatic sensors and comparison of different sensors is analyzed. In the end of this paper, the research of optimization design of the gas-solid flow velocity measurement electrostatic sensor is completed.The innovation point is, using COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software, the characteristic of static sensitivity and dynamic sensitivity of a variety of electrostatic sensors has been analyzed and researched. More effective means are provided for the optimization design of the gas-solid flow velocity measurement electrostatic sensor.
