ABSTRACT: Modern industrial automation process is becoming more andmore complicated, automated and intelligent. Most of the production line hasachieved the automation level of classical control theory and control systembased on PLC. Now it is toward the development of multi-layer automationsystem function level, based on network communication. The automationlevel of production for the development speed of equipment maintenancetechnology is far behind the current device. Fast fault location and faultprocessing of the current site equipment have not obtained the very bigdevelopment with the rapid update these industrial control products. So basedon the current status of the amorphous strip production line control system, Ihave studied on the in-depth analysis of its fault diagnosis method.This thesis is a series of fault diagnosis method research, focusing onpresent situation of the amorphous strip production line control system. Afterthe further analysis of automatic production line, it is a research of a series ofcontrol system fault diagnosis method, using PLC as a diagnostic tool. In thesystem, PLC acts as a controller and as a diagnostic tool. It is furtherexcavated for the application of PLC in fault diagnosis system. It isexpatiated for the self diagnostic function of PLC. The fault of system failureis located quickly, using the powerful function of PLC logic processing. Then,it is analyzed the outstanding feature of amorphous strip production linecontrol system. Based on the field bus technology and database knowledgeand the idea of expert system, it develops a device fault diagnosis methodand describes the implementation method. After study, If the methodcombines with BP neural network prediction model, the system willactualizes real-time self-learning and forecast of system fault. Finally, itdescribes BP neural network prediction model and obtains experimentalverification. After the above research and application of fault diagnosismethod, the failure incidence of amorphous strip production line is greatlyreduced.Although the industrial control technology has been greatly improved atpresent, once the system failure, it may cause the whole line to paralysis. Itwill cause great losses to the company. So it has great practicability andnecessity for research and development of the intelligent fault diagnosissystem.
