Research Of Library Management System Based On ILASII System

With the maturity of computer application technology and improvements of network communication facilities in library, the application of computer technology in library world has entered into a new era. During this period, library world has implemented a series of reforms, from establishing closed library with internal computer management system to constructing standardized bibliography database, and finally realizing interlibrary online cataloguing and literature information resource sharing via computer network.As one of research projects of national priority attached to Ministry of Culture in1988, ILAS was developed by Shenzhen Library. It is scientific, integrated, open and practical. Cooperating with other systems, ILAS can form overall automatic solution schemes for different types of public libraries and reading rooms in college and universities. ILAS is comprised of editing, circulation, reservation, periodical management, Public inquiry, reference work and information development, Online Cataloging, web service, management of the electronic reading room, interlibrary loan and so on.The author studies the functional characteristics of library management system and social needs at the very beginning. After classifying and analyzing the features, functions and applications of ILAS II, he puts forward a new library management system based on ILAS II. System design and algorithm design have been adopted in this system. Then, the practicality of this system is tested. Shortages and countermeasures have been discussed in the final part. It is hoped that this paper maybe helpful for establishing a user-friendly and effective library management system.
