Since data service is supportd by mobile terminals, both mobile communicationmanufacturers and consumers are very concerned about the feature of data synchronization(Management/Backup/Restore) which base on internet. At the begening, the solution of datasynchronization only depend on some manufacturers, applications or operations. This bringssome constraints about the user’s selection, also let the user’s convenience become weaker.SyncML(Synchronization Markup Language) is a standard protocol set of datasynchronization which doesn’t depend on any specific platform. It includes SyncML datatransmission protocol(SyncML-DS) and SyncML device managementprotocol(SyncML-DM).Although there has been a unified standard, but now, no matter themobile terminal manufacturers or mobile operators and third-party service providers ofSyncML server-side, all provide only basic SyncML synchronization function. But the mobileterminals have different product positions. Their lauch times are not the same. And the serverside also exist similar situation. This cause SyncML protocal being used both version1.1.2and version1.2at the current phase. The versions of phone book format also have vCard2.1and vCard3.0. How are they compatible with each other, it is important to consider andresolve.Based on the study SyncML data synchronization technology, researchbased the keytechnologies of the processing mechanism for Application status, phone book synchronizationprocess improvement, SyncML1.1.2and SyncML1.2compatibility, vCard2.1and vCard3.0compatibility and security enhancement for data synchronization. Then propose theirsolutions. Application status handling mechanism of the key technologies is achieved bymaintaining data synchronization status between server and mobile client. Compatiblesolution of SyncML1.1.2and SyncML1.2is achieved by the transformation and expansionSyncML1.1.2protocol stack. Compatible solution of vCard2.1and vCard3.0is achieved byadjusting vCard synchronization process and expensing some vCard3.0fields. Datasynchronization security Enhancement of the key technologies is achieved by using URLbinding way and Enhancing SAN authentication.At the end, we selected one mobile manufacturer which launched a mobile phone in amobile operator of the United States as a blueprint, introduce these solutions which above keytechnologies applied on them. And design corresponding test for each solution of keytochnogies. Finally, these solutions passed all tests. Then according to the implementation andtest results of each key technology solutions, discussed the feasibility of these key technologies.
