The video surveillance plays a very important role in today’s social security, they appear in public places, home, traffic transportation, campus, after it experienced analog surveillance, digital surveillance, with the development of network technology, video surveillance now has entered the era of Internet monitoring. Based on the two main mode of the B/S and C/S, the user can access remote monitoring device through a browser or by downloading the software for video surveillance, these modes facilitate the monitoring and also expand the scope of monitoring, but also keep some disadvantages and inconvenience, browser’s compatibility in B/S mode and software’s platform compatibility in C/S mode are the bottleneck, these bring bad experience for users.This thesis proposes the design of web-integrated video surveillance system based on the Flex platform, and implement the entire online system with Flex and Java, combine the existing devices and subsystems. System is divided into two parts with front-end and back-end. The front-end with Flex and Actionscript3to achieve user-friendly interface and interacts, which has the characteristics of asynchronous refresh and greatly improves the efficiency of interaction. The back-end is J2EE server which provides Java interfaces for the management and control on the equipments. While analysis of the integrated system and complete system design, hereinafter focus on the research of message push in the integrated system, By improving the Publish/subscribe model of Blazeds to achieve a one-to-one message push function and make the client not to send request to the server but it can collect the information which is posted by the server on equipment’s such as alarm information, drop down from the server and so on.Based on the flex inherent characteristics such as cross-browser, cross-platform, and asynchronous refresh, the users do not need to download software, or pay attention to the platform and browser’s compatibility, just simply enter the URL address of any browsers and it will be able to achieve high efficiency video monitoring and management, and a better user experience, it effectively solves the bottleneck problem in the mode of the B/S and C/S.
