Abstract:Dispensing technology is widely used in a variety of electronic packaging process. It’s the key technology to ensure the quality of the final product. In all types of dispensing technology, jet dispensing technology with high dimensional accuracy and high production efficiency has broad prospects in application. Due to the restriction of the assembly precision, the stroke of the needle and the driving force, the traditional jet dispensing valve is not conducive to large-viscosity glue injection and the cost is high. To solve these problems, consider the technical characteristics of jet dispensing technology, an electromagnetic driven jetting dispenser with a flexure hinge was designed.In this paper, the development process of dispensing technology was introduced, focusing on the working principle, technical merit and drive method of the jet dispensing technology. Then, the principle of the mechanical collision jet dispensing technology was analyzed, and a working scheme of electromagnetic driven jetting dispenser with a flexure hinge was proposed on the basis of the original electromagnetic driven jetting dispenser. According to the working scheme, the structure of the dispenser was designed. The main components of the dispenser were mainly designed and analyzed,which includes the flexure hinge, the spring, the electromagnet and the components interact with the fluid. According to the working characteristics of the dispenser, the PWM driving circuit was designed. Meanwhile, the mathematical model of the working process was established using Simulink to study the characteristics of the dispenser, the displacement curve of the needle, the velocity curve of the needle, the flow rate of the nozzle and how some factors influence on the dispenser during the dispensing process were obtained. Finally, the electromagnetic driven jetting dispensing experimental system was built based on the prototype and experimental study of the dynamic characteristics of the dispenser, the dynamic process of the jetting dispensing and the influencing factors of the droplet size were conducted. The results of experiment show that the electromagnetic driven jetting dispenser with a flexure hinge can jet the adhesive whose viscosity is1Pa·s and the maximum operating frequency up to20Hz. The performance of the dispenser achieves the expected objectives.
