With the development of information society, people demand for information more andmore, demand of the amount of information is growing with each passing day in a shortperiod of time. The traditional electrical interconnection networks have serious crosstalk,limited bandwidth, higher power consumption nature can not solve the problem, therefore,people began to explore new technologies. Optical fibers interconnection as a newinterconnection,has high bandwidth, low power consumption, small delay, and theadvantages of anti-interference ability of many electrical interconnection are incomparable. Atpresent, optical interconnection networks have become one of the main research directioninternationally. However, due to applications in optical communication, optical switchinginterconnection network is mainly composed of discrete components, so there is a largeinsertion loss, low anti-interference ability, complicated structure, difficult installation andcalibration, high cost, be largely limits in practical application. Therefore, In this paper, basedon a single piece of lithium niobate crystal2x2switch, integrated research of Crossbarnetwork, and the production and test, realizes the connection between any input and anyoutput. The main contents of this thesis1.Based on the single crystal of2×2optical switch designed a packagable integratedstructure of the Crossbar network, with lithium niobate crystals are2×2,3×3and4×4Crossbar network. Each2x2switch crystal size is about50mm×20mm×2mm, each channelof the incident angle of79.8°. The electrode size is5mm×27mm. The experimental resultsshow that: bycontrolling the switch state, can realize the interconnection between any inputand output, measured loss and crosstalk in every way with network. The greatest loss is33.14dB, the maximum crosstalk is-1.45dB.2.Reasons to network loss and crosstalk analysis. Because the test is carried out in the initialconditions, the incident plane crystal and the exit surface without AR coating, so the lossmainly to the crystal plane of incidence and the Finel reflection and crosstalk. Due to thelimitation of experimental conditions, the driving voltage deviation half wave voltage, beamtravels along the optical axis is not strict, the main causes of crosstalk. In addition, a factor ofcrystal extinction ratio small also produce crosstalk.
