Tourism informationization and networking have been greatly improved with therapid development of the Internet revolution in past decades. More and more tourismsites are developed to facilitate people’s basic necessities in food, clothing, housing andtransportation, as well as in travelling, shopping, entertainment etc. They have greatlycontributed to the development of the tourism industry and significantly created hugeeconomic profits. Tourism e-commerce can be defined as business systems that adoptelectronic methods for business operations based on Internet, tourism informationintegration and electronic banking. Since1996, tourism e-commerce has beensignificantly enhanced such that more than5000websites can provide basic travelinformation, among which over400websites are quite professional. They are portalsites, specific tourism websites and regional tourism websites. Tourism e-commerce hasbecome a new tourism business operations mode despite its short time applications.At present, websites have become an indispensable part of the tourism industry.However, there exist many defects in China’s tourism E-commerce websites, such as,network security, information imperfection etc. This thesis attempts to introduce andanalyze the current situation of tourism e-commerce websites, establish acomprehensive tourism e-commerce platform. Thereafter, in-depth research on thedevelopment of key technologies in the platform process is conducted based on thecharacteristics of the integrated platform, the actual design and R&D.The thesis introduces the social needs of the tourism e-commerce platform and itsdevelopment background firstly. Section2concentrates on a specific description ofnecessary technologies for platform development process. Then, Section3describes thefunctional and non-functional requirements of the system. Based on previous section,the system design and the system implementation for tourism e-commerce platform areaccomplished in Sections4and5, respectively. The system design mainly focuses ondescribing the general design principles, proposing the overall platform design based oncustomers’ requirements, and giving clear explanations on the system’s core modules,such as user management and product search etc. Then, the system implementation aimsat studying the system’s database framework and process design. Specificimplementation methods for the system’s core modules are also concluded. Section6 concludes the thesis with a system functional test and a system performance test for thedeveloped system based on the system testing standards.
