As one of the main technology of3G communication, Multicarrier Wireless InformationLocal Loop (McWiLL) system is widely used in home and abroad market with its uniquefeature. With the increasing market requirement on the broadband and high-performance ofthe terminal, it is necessary to prompt a terminal with broadband and high-performance. Theplatform of OMAP3, which is developed by Texas Instruments Company, has high-performance microprocessors based on the enhanced device architecture, good-qualitymultimedia function, high frequency, low-consuming power. So it provides a global solutionon terminal applications.This paper is based on the hardware centered on OMAP3which is designed by XinWeiTelecom Technology Company, build the software project in accordance with the protocol ofMcWiLL Physical Layer to reach the basic Physical Layer’s communication architecture. Theresearch is dedicated to introduce the realization of Physical Layer’s synchronization, therealization of TDD module, and the software optimization on OMAP3.This paper firstly introduces the development and application of McWiLL technology.Then introduces the processing of Physical Layer, the Time-Architecture and Frequency-Architecture under the TDD module, as well as the platform of hardware and software used inthis research. Next introduces the realization and optimization of Physical Layer software indetail: In synchronization mode, this paper introduces processing of synchronization and thestep of quickly correlation for synchronization,then run the procedure with CCS forsynchronization test and use Matlab to draw the results of synchronization when the terminalis synchronizing with the Base Station; In TDD module, this paper uses timer triggerinterrupter to analyze the TDD schedules, and uses DMA for interface data transfers andreceivers. The schedules of TDD and Interface debugged and verified with the oscillograph.The paper optimizes the software combining with the characteristic of OMAP3, replace the Clanguage with inline functions in DSP library, use pseudoinstructions and compiler option forthe software pipelining optimization. The CCS Profile tool and oscillograph are all used in thepaper to measuring the processing time before and after the software optimization. Finally, thepaper uses the diagnose tool to test and verified the program of the TDD mode on terminal.The test result suggests that using the program with software optimization the terminal can synchronizing and can communicates normally with the current Base Station.
