Research On Analysis Method Of Network Topology Discovery Based On SNMP And OSPF

With the development and popularization of the computer network topology, people notonly enjoy the convenience and the efficiency of the network, but also take risks of networksecurity. Up to now, network security has spread into all fields of computer network, and hasbeen the key problem effecting the network design and the network construction.In a network,network topology is both the basis of management and the operational objectives ofapplication and research. However, what the most important and difficult of networkresearching is how to make the structure of the network topology quick, real time andaccurate.The aim of this paper is to study the most universal method for the network topologydiscovery based on the SNMP and OSPF protocol to monitor the real-time network situationof the target network, with the transferring equipment and the node equipment in networkincluded in the monitoring goals. So the purpose of network topology discovery method is tosatisfy the discrepancy of the network situation perception. And make the network loadingmeet the minimize standard with completing the topology discovery in the shortest possibletime.At the beginning, this paper analysis the grim situation of the network security situationaland abroad in the field of research. This topic research and structure makes a detailedintroduction. It presents the characteristics of the network situation awareness and gives thedirection and meaning of the network topology discovery method.Secondly, Then analyze the significance of network topology discovery to the networksecurity situation awareness, and the advantages and disadvantages of the network topologymethods. And research the network topology discovery combined with background of theproject. Again, proposing a network topology discovery method which is based on SNMP andOSPF to revise the traditional network topological method.In addition, this paper gives the direction of the network topology discovered methodsthrough the introduction of using the technology in the process of network topology. Thepurpose is to provid an effective service for the network situation awareness system.Finally, a detailed instruction for the research of this topic is given and the studyingdirection of next step is proposed.
