With the continuous development of network technology, the distributed systemnow in measuring instruments and industrial control, medical, communications,electricity and other fields more and more widely used, and the synchronizationprecision requirements are also getting higher and higher. At present, the most widelyused traditional synchronization technology in NTP, SNTP and GPS. NTP and SNTPtime synchronization accuracy can only achieve millisecond. GPS timesynchronization accuracy can be achieved by nanosecond, but its need particulartransceiver device and does not support Ethernet port, for industrial applications withhigh cost.IEEE1588clock synchronization technology based on Ethernet is a highprecision network clock synchronization technology. Fully realized by softwareIEEE1588clock synchronization precision can achieve millisecond. Using hardwareassistance to achieve the IEEE1588clock synchronization. Synchronization precisioncan reach a nanosecond, at the same time, IEEEl588high precision clocksynchronization technology is a kind of rely on master slave clock transmission clocksynchronization message to achieve synchronization.The message use the existingEthernet transmitting.No need to set up additional clock signal line.Compared withthe traditional synchronous technology, its low cost and the synchronous precision ishigher.In the modern industrial applications of high precision requirements, its has aunique advantage, broad prospects of application.Combining with the current application background and the existing industrialEthernet as the basis, systematically studyed and implemented of hardware IEEE1588clock synchronization system based on LM3S9B96.First, elaborated the domestic and foreign research present situation andbackground, and comparing the various clock synchronization technology advantagesand disadvantages. In-depth study of the IEEE1588PTP clock synchronization systemmodel, network topology,PTP synchronous mechanism and influence factors of theclock synchronization accuracy and compensation strategy. Then, according to the IEEE1588PTP clock synchronization systemcharacteristics, taking the TI company LM3S9B96chip as the core, with a clock totame the means, proposed one kind based on the hardware assisted realizationIEEEl588clock synchronization scheme.Finally, in the composed of Windows XP system, IAR integrated developmentenvironment, J-LINK hardware simulators and DK-LM3S9B96development boardplatform realized the system.Through the implementation of software simulation and hardware test, provedthat the realization of hardware auxiliary IEEE1588clock synchronization system hashigh precision, low cost advantages, and can completely satisfy the current industrialapplications for time synchronization accuracy requirements.
