In engineering applications, motors, turbines and other equipment are usuallyprovided in the form of a rotary driving force, In life, and a windmill fan is rotated form..In order to rotate the device to detect and control the working status, speed is an importantreference volume, so the speed measurement become a hot issue industrial areas. And thecurrent speed measurement equipment, are in industrial and engineering applications ofprofessional equipment, measurement speed, high precision, but portability is relativelylow, limiting the measuring equipment’s versatility and popularity.Other hand, with the rapid development of mobile communication technology,mobile phone operating speed and data processing capabilities continue to increase,making it the basis of a communication terminal enrich their functional roles.In this paper,the speed measurement way to do a certain amount of research and analysis, measuringthe speed of people’s lives and the common cell phone combined with measurement ofspeed of the mobile phone functions, to improve the speed measurement tool portabilityand popularity. This article uses video processing technology, research based on theAndroid platform non-contact speed measurement system and its implementation.First, the analysis of the domestic and speed measurement equipment and methodsproposed for Android platform, using Opencv image processing technology, non-contactmeasurement method. According speed measurement system to complete the function ofthe whole system solution for the design and analysis will be divided into six functionalmodules, and a good user experience as a precondition for the system’s UI design.Secondly, according to the system requirements, the completion of a frame imageacquisition and processing, the process stream including video capture, image formatconversion, image binarization process, the amount of background interference removal,thinning and line testing and other areas.Finally, calculate the rotational speed of a rotating body and a system test,measurement errors were analyzed and improvement of the program. Feasibility entiredesign is high, with some innovative and practical. The system enables speed measurement is no longer dependent on the professional equipment that allows people inthe production and daily life more convenient to measure, but also for the professionalequipment to provide a new way of life. As mobile phones become more and more highhardware parameters, the software more functional, by the CPU, memory, video camerasbrings speed limit factors will become increasingly smaller, the measurement accuracyand measurement speed will be higher and higher.
