With embedded systems’ development and its’market continuing to expand, embeddedsystem functions are improved continuously, and the users who make use of graphical displaydevice are increasing. The need of embedded man-machine interface is more and more, so forthe demand. In embedded real-time system, the basic requirements of graphicaluser interface (GUI, Graphical User Interface) include lightweight, small memory footprint, highperformance, high reliability, configuration and so on. Design of embedded human-machineinterface is an essential part of the entire development. Friendly human-machine interface is veryimportant for embedded products, which often determines the success of the product into themarket. So the graphical user interface development is often the most time-consuming work inproduct development process.In the beginning, the paper analyzes the advantages of embedded Linux and describes thedevelopment status and future prospects of embedded graphical user interface. For a genericembedded intelligent controller in the industrial field, we designed a graphical user interfacewith configuration control fuction. Secondly,it introduces the reason for the choice of Qt, tocomplete the configuration and migration of bootloader and the linux kernel, to establish apersonalized GUI development environment. Thirdly, the paper completed the design anddevelopment of user interface with configuration control fuction, and successfully transplantedthe library of Qt to the target board. And we complete control design, achieve data processing,storage and transmission based on Qt/embedded. Then we complete the migration ofconfiguration control interface application program based on Qt/embedded. Finally, experimentsshow that the design of embedded graphical user interface could meet the design requirements;the system is stable and completes the desired function with good usability.
