Embedded Linux Graphical User Interface And Realization

Graphics User Interface (GUT) is an important part of embedded operating system. And it will give a great impetus to the progress and the application of embedded technology. The goal of this study is to construct a GUI system in our embedded Linux,in order to provide a friendly graphics user interface for such embedded devices as Set-Top Box (STB) and Personal Data Assistant (PDA). We realized a simple system in this project and named CCGUI.The paper presents the basic concepts of embedded system and GUI,analyses the application requirements and significance of the project,and gives some introduction and comparision of the corresponding projects domestic and abroad. Then,there is a study of the technology related to embedded GUI,including architecture,display driver,multi-task supporting,application of Object-Oriented technology,window manager and desktop environment. CCGUI is divided into four layers:base window system,window manager,user interface toolkits and desktop environment. Based on the division of these four layers,this paper expatiates on design and implementation of base window system,display driver on Rage HDTV chip,window manager,representative applications like remote desktop access based on Windows Terminal Server,etc. At last,the author gives a summary of all the work,and put forward the successive destination.
