BVG (Bell-shaped Vibratory Angular Rate Gyro) utilizes the Coriolis Effect ofstanding wave in the symmetric shell to sense and measure the angular rate, withlow noise, high resolution, and small bulk and high overloading. Signal detection isdesigned for acquiring the micro-Nano-level radial amplitude of the bell-shapedshell lip caused by input angular rate. Its performance directly impacts the overallperformance of the gyro.This paper focuses on research of signal detection technology and analyzes thestructure and operating principle of the bell-shaped vibrator; proposes signaldetection scheme of micro-Nano amplitude based on vibrator’s features; designsdetection circuit of Micro-capacitance (PF level) through online simulation andexperimental measurement. Signal detection unit of BVG is accomplished afterbeing calibrated. The main contents are as follows:1. Analyze vibrator’s structural characteristics, operating principle andperformance; analyze operating principle of cantilevered beam and optimize itsparameters;2. Analyze two methods of Micro-Nano amplitude detection; establishmathematical model of capacitance detection of micro-amplitude depending onvibrator’s features; establish detection scheme for BVG;3. Through finite element method, analyze the structure of surface capacitanceto gain optimal parameters of the capacitor electrodes; design circuit of signaldetection for BVG through circuit simulation and experiments; verify performanceof the detection circuit;4. Based on experimental data, summarize the influence level (brought bycomponents) on the performance of signal detection system; use online method tooptimize the detection circuit.
