With the rapid development of wireless communication, the scale of its networkbecome larger, its structure become more complex, its coverage become more wide, itsrequirements of service type become more diversity and service quality become higher. Inorder to meet the ever-increasing customers’ demands, wireless communication networktechnology present to have the tendency of isomerization in the future. A variety ofwireless communication technology which appeared at present, both compete with eachother and complement each other, and each technique has its advantages anddisadvantages. Multimode wireless transmission technology can fully complementaryutilization the characteristics among various wireless network, so can effectively solve thesmall network coverage, poor stability and low network bandwidth of single networkmode.Compared with the traditional single mode transmission technology, multi-modewireless transmission technology should solve the problem of access selection andswitching among a variety of network mode of the mobile terminal. Multi-mode mobileterminal equipped with multiple network interface cards, can perceive the existence of avariety of the network, and choose and switch among them when need.In this paper, according to the existed choice of access technology and heterogeneousswitching technology, and combine with the specific circumstances, we put forward asuitable scheme. In the choice of access, according to the actual situation, wepreferentially choose one of the network, by testing the network delay to decide whetherto access or disconnected, and give the power of access control to the terminal andserver at the same time. In the vertical handoff, this paper adopts the IP tunnel technologycombined with application layer switch technology, to achieve a seamless handover underthe case that it should compatible with the original network. Then use the automaticretransmission of ARQ technology to solve the packet loss and disorder problem duringswitching process.In this paper, the final test results show that, communicate with a sigle network, willhave the phenomenon that in some region can not normally communication. When amobile terminal using dual seamless switching software, and switching between variousnetwork, data transmission will not be interrupted because of the network switching, andmobile terminal can still work normally.
