Design And Implementation Of A Snapshot Storage System Based On A Redirection Framework

With the development of information technology, the amount of data is growingexponentially, which has brought great challenge to storing and handling the data. Newtechnology has been continuously applied, used to expand storage capacity and improvethe resource utilization of the storage system. Based on the present situation, this paperproposes to establish a redirection framework, embedded in senior storage strategy, toimprove the existing storage system storage condition. A custom snapshot strategy hasbeen realized to provide data protection function.There is an in-deep study on several kind of common storage system structure,putting forward two ways of redirection technology: taking inside and outside the band.Focusing on redirection, a detailed analysis of various storage characteristics demonstratesthe feasibility of the redirection framework. Taking out-of-band means to realize a redirectframework program, so that the existing system changes can be minimum. Through theagilely embedded automatic streamline configuration, the framework can improve theavailability and storage resources utilization. There’s an implementation of an independentredirection framework program, which clearly defines the storage strategy of theembedded interface, can be more agile to support the strategy of symbiosis, and at thesame time fully compatible with the existing storage scheme. Furthermore, a customsnapshot strategy has been realized, according to the virtual view way, to transform theoriginal logical volumes into custom disk format, supporting unlimited number ofsnapshot creations, whose storage performance is not associated with the snapshotnumber.The results of the tests of the snapshot redirection framework show that theframework complies with the design index and the influence of the existing system is verysmall. The embedded redirection framework snapshot strategy can correctly complete thefunction of the design, the related performance comply with the design of the desiredeffect.
