Design And Implementation Of KAD Network Measurement System

P2P technology has been extensively studied and used for its outstandingperformance advantage. KAD is the largest DHT system with several millionsimultaneous users, and it shares rich resources. This thesis would take activemeasurement of KAD to observe its peers and content retrieval, aiming for finding theway to improvement KAD performance.I designed and implemented the KAD network measurement system after analyzingthe realization principles of KAD network. Then I analyzed the peers information in KAD.My main tasks includes:1) Designed, implemented and tested the KAD networkmeasurement system after needs analysis. The system would communicate with the KADnetwork as a garnished peer.2) Made statistics and analysis of peers in KAD. I classifiedthe peers, and observed the peers online duration, and proposed the way to identify longterm online peers or active peers.3) Improved the content retrieval module of the systemwith active peers. And through actual tests, I compared the content retrieval performanceafter improvement with that of before improvement.I completed the measurement of KAD peers and content retrieval. In addition, Iproposed the way to identify active peers in KAD, and improved the performance ofcontent retrieval with active peers.
