The peer-to-peer (P2P) architecture has become one of the most important carrier forcontent-distribution on the Internet. Many commercial/non-commercial P2P file sharingapplications have been successfully implemented on the Internet. As the tipicalimmplements of structured and hybrid infrastructure, eMule and Xunlei both have somany users. In this thesis, we measured these two networks. We designed and implemented the content-distribution network measurement systemafter analyzing the realization principles of content-distribution network. Then weanalyzed the measurement results. Our main tasks includes: Designed and implementedand tested the content-distribution network measurement system. Made statistics andanalysis of peers in KAD, and then classified the peers. We improved the content retrievalmodule of the system with highly active peers. We conduct a preliminary measurementstudy to explore the service differentiation mechanisms of the Xunlei file-sharing system. We measured the scale and the distribution of Xunlei servers, and analyzed the QoE ofservice differentiation.Through the content-distribution network measurement system, we provided someinsights into the two most popular content-distribution networks. And we analyzed thesetwo networks. The analyzed result may bring forth insights into achieving a measurable, controllable and manageable Internet.
