With the extensive application of digital broadcast television, COFDM videotransmission technology was applied to the field of security and disaster relief because ofits high transfer rate, high frequency utilization, strong ability of diffraction and othernotable features. However, due to its high technical threshold, these kinds of devices arenot cheap. Wireless video transmission system using COFDM technology can be widelyused in the field of security, fire and rescue. Therefore, the application of the technologyin this field is still focused by lots of companies. This project designed and implementeda COFDM wireless video transmission system for fire and rescue applications.This paper begins with a brief introduction to the course of development of videotechnology, channel coding techniques, digital modulation techniques, and then makessome brief references of the DVB-T standard. After a lot of study and field learning, theauthor proposes the hardware solutions, analyses the core system parameters, and theseparameters on the main chip requirements combined with the requirements of the relatedcompany, then briefly describes the related technical parameters and applicationenvironment of the chip, which selected the key chips. With a chapter of detaileddescription of the software design of FPGA, including the overall technical indicators,channel coding framework, each channel coding module, asynchronous FIFO of MPEG2stream adapter, and frame forming and OFDM. Next, the article describes the simulationand testing process of this modulation module, done a detailed analysis of the problemsencountered therein, and lists the solutions to solve these problems. Tested, COFDMwireless video modulation module can work stably and continuously for a long time, hasconsiderable practical value and the possibility of further development and upgrading.
