The Internet of things which is considered to be the most significant technologicalinnovation after the Internet, has became a hot spot of the global attention. The developmentof the Internet of things introduces the new concept and development space for the smarthome, and the smart home is an important application of the Internet of things. This paperintroduces the key technology of the Internet of things into the smart home system, designsand implements a smart home system which is perfect, practical, portability, ease to use andlow-cost.We conducted adequate research on the key technologies and applications of the Internetof Things in this paper. In view of the smart home which is an most important application ofthe Internet of things, we employed the ZigBee wireless sensor technology and the computernetwork communication technology, and put forward the overall functional structure of thesystem and the network topology; Based on the functional requirements of the homenetwork,we choose CC2530to design the hardware part of the coordinator, router andterminal node; The using of ZigBee2007stack was to design and implement the software part;With fully researching and analyzing the ZigBee routing algorithm,we designed andimplemented routing process which based on the ADOV; Considering different controlmethods and functions, we designed and implemented the control procedures of the terminalnodes; We used the VC++6.0to design and implement the remote control terminal which hasa good man-machine interface, simple using feature and strong adaptability.The family network and overall system testing result show that: the home network canbuilt and maintenance the network; the router can work normally; each of the terminal nodework stably; we can control microwave, electric curtains and power plug by remote controlterminal; we can get real-time alarm nodes and environmental information collecting by thealarm node and the temperature-humidity node. Overall, the system work stably and basicallymeet the functional requirements of the smart home.
