In recent years, with the extensive use of Video Matrix and high-speed development of computer technology and electronic technology, video matrix is not only limited to select video image signal, but developed to be large-capacity, multi-functional, networking and customized application. It connected to the computer to be a powerful microcomputer multimedia central monitoring system; connected with a variety of control methods and devices to be surveillance monitoring system which can be simultaneously and independently operate by many people[1]. The software of video matrix system is becoming more and more complex.Currently, most of the matrix control systems are achieved by microcontroller. For one side, since the logic control program of microcontroller and the underlying hardware drivers are inseparable, the change of hardware will lead to the change of the e ntire logic control program, and the processing capacity of microcontroller is limited, so it is difficult to develop complex system application program and implement network control function of system. For another side, the transplantation of embedded Linux control system and the development of matrix control application program on this platform not only separate the direct connection with underlying hardware to facilitate it s upgrade, but also develop according to the different custom needs. At the same time, the embedded Linux control system provides powerful network service, which can achieve the network control of matrix control system. To this end, we propose to design a embedded Linux operating system as a platform, SAMSUNG S3C2416-based controller, video matrix switching control system to meet increasing user needs.This paper reviewed the development current status of video matrix system, proposed research argument about the video matrix system based on embedded Linux technology. Then, this paper specifically analyzed and designed the system architecture and function implementation of digital video matrix system method which is based on embedded Linux technology, identified the main function and implementation strategy that the video matrix system needed to complete in this program. Based on these analyses, this paper focuses on the setting up of embedded Development platform, design of the video matrix system command parsing, and QT-based GUI interface design. At last, the testing result of this system demonstrated the digital video matrix system with reliable operation and excellent performance Characteristics.
