As an important means of therapeutic technique, intravenous infusion is widely used in clinicaltreatment because of its rapid drug infusion, fast effect and small stimulate. However, infusion processmainly depends on manual monitoring so that it has a high error rate which may affect the quality oftreatment. A new type of intelligent medical infusion monitoring system including infusionmonitoring device and infusion monitoring and management system is developed, which has thefunction of real-time monitoring of the infusion dripping speed, drug liquid temperature and infusionstatus which can reflect whether there is abnormal situation, etc. This system is used for the treatmentof a single patient, monitoring data of several infusion channels simultaneously.The specific content can summarized as follow:(1) Hardware circuits and mechanical structures of infusion monitoring device are designed tomonitor real-time infusion status of single infusion channel and send the collected infusioninformation including infusion dripping speed, drug liquid temperature and abnormal situation, etc. tocentral control computer through RS485bus, including MCU and peripheral circuits, infusiondripping speed control module, drug liquid temperature control module, alarm module, power supplymodule, human-computer interaction module, communication module.(2) Software for infusion monitoring device is developed, using Keil C51programminglanguage and modular programming method, which achieves the function of acquisition andmonitoring infusion data. Infusion monitoring and management system is developed by VisualC++6.0programming software, which monitors infusion dripping speed and drug liquid temperatureof several infusion channels, alarms to prompt abnormal situation in time, all infusion data arerecorded and preserved, patient’s transfusion information are scientifically managed.(3) Infusion dripping speed measurement, infusion dripping speed control and drug liquidtemperature control accuracy experiments are designed and experimental results are analyzed anddiscussed, which verify the feasibility and reliability of designed system.Intelligent medical infusion monitoring system designed in this paper has the advantages of easyto use and a high ratio of performance to price which basically meets the requirements of hospitals.This system not only ensures the safety of infusion process, reduces the burden of nurses, but alsomakes intravenous infusion network centered and intelligentize, which has a wide range of applicationprospects.
