Because of the complex battlefield environment in the war, the communicationstation is likely to be damaged by the enemy at any time. In defence of the caseswhere destruction of a node in the network reduces the Quality of Service ofcommunication seriously or makes the network paralyzed, based on electronicmap and reliability requirements, the method to build the microwavecommunication network is proposed. The first issue is to construct survivable netwok. Most relevant theories simplyevaluated the survivability of networks, without a specific survivable networkbuilding method in detail. Based on this demand, this paper analysed thecharacteristics of survivable netwok and proposed a network build ing methodwith network topology constrained by survivability requirements.Subsequently, designing the microwave link. According to the transmissionprinciple of microwave communication, the network topology constructed cannot establish communication connectivity in real environment for the influenceof mountains, buildings, etc. Therefore, this paper adds electronic map in thesystem, constructs microwave communication model based on geographicalinformation in electronic map, and designs microwave communications links andmicrowave relay links as well, finally building microwave communicationnetwork that meet the survivability requirements. Then, it is the frequency assignment. Unreasonable assignment of frequencyresource, not only wastes frequency resource, but also affects communicationquality of the whole network probably, and leads to paralysis of the entirenetwork furthermore. Based on the above issues, a method that assigns thefrequency for the microwave communication network was proposed. In thismethod, microwave communication transmission attenuation and microwavecommunication transmission interference are calculated based on electronic map.The results of calculation demonstrate this method improve the utilization offrequency resource and reduce the interference among stations in the network.Ultimately, we exploit the performance of proposed network. Microwave communication model constructed in OPNET simulation software, not onlyactual transmission service configuration but also the attack to station, aresimulated in the case of microwave communication network, achieving thestatistics of throughput decrease in the whole network attacked. Through theanalysis of the throughput difference between constructed network and commonnetwork after the attack, the survivable performance of the microwavecommunication network is verified.
