As an emerging research field, wireless sensor networks have a wideapplication areas and significant research value, the main application areas includebattlefield surveillance, environmental monitoring, security control, urban trafficmanagement, intelligent home and other aspects.Applied to different areas of thewireless sensor network, its external application environment, traffic, networkprotocols, network topology are so different, these factors will directly affect theenergy consumption and lifetime of wireless sensor networks. As an importantmeans of key technologies, the software simulation of wireless sensor network havemany advantages, such as its initial investment cost is low, a good network modelhas continuity, and its post-investment cost is declining.Based on the above research, this paper mainly studied the resent energymodeling techniques and general network simulation platform of wireless sensornetwork. We found that network simulation tool for wireless sensor network is notexist, and existing network simulation platforms do not have a energy consumptionmodel or their models lack accuracy. To solve these problems, this paper proposesan event-driven thinking, design and implement the simulation and evaluationsystem based on event-driven. The system use an energy consumption model basedon event-driven, consider a variety of time-varying factors such as channelenvironment, traffic, network topology, protocols, as the system input for building avariety of simulation scenarios, and evaluate the network energyconsumption. Finally, the system can predict energy consumption of nodes andnetwork lifetime which is used for assess network protocol, topology, traffic, theexternal environment, and nodes’ hardware architecture.Using the above realization of the simulation system, the paper also designeddifferent simulation scenarios Wireless Sensor Text of typical protocol topology, traffic, wireless channel hardware architecture and a large number of simulation toevaluate the typical routing protocols AODV protocol and CIVIC agreement, thetypical galaxy topology and topology hierarchical topology, the typical architectureof the RF module CC2420with MC13213, also analyzed the business and energy consumption, and energy consumption of the channel relationship. Finally, theactual sense to build a small wireless Text analysis verified the earlier design energymodel validation proved that the system can get close to the actual energyconsumption simulation results, which for wireless sensor network played a verygood set-up and deployment guiding role, reducing the regulatory and secondarynetwork deployment costs incurred to promote the development of wireless sensornetwork and applications.
