HIT-TENA is a virtual test and training architecture which is according to thedesign idea of TENA of the USA military architecture, and uses standard interfacesto integrate the physical, semi-physical resources for data exchange. Thearchitecture is used for testing, evaluation, training and other fields. Test planningsoftware is a tool that must be possessed by any virtual simulation systems. LikeTENA, the HIT-TENA which is designed by our laboratory also needs a testplanning software which could centrally manage the test resources, support staticmodeling and complete the initial planning of the test. This software mainlyincludes scenario planning and test method design. This article concentrates on thein-depth study and design for the two parts of the software. For the scenario planning part, firstly use UML tool to execute requirementsdefinition analysis in order to obtain the cases of scenario planning. Secondlyanalyze the static modeling and dynamic interaction of the scenario planning. Inorder to realize the visualization of scenario planning in the process, compares ofcurrent mainstream open source GIS software are conducted and then QGIS ischosen which can execute cross-platform compilation for the secondarydevelopment of the electronic map. In order to describe the scenario planningstandardly, on the foundation of using international standard military scenariodefinition language MSDL, design the content and format of the scenario planningto meet with HIT-TENA, and join the mission planning element. Finally, developthe scenario planning module of the test planning software. For the test method design part, based on component-based design technology, analysis the realization of components in HIT-TENA and study the current twotypical test methods, orthogonal design and uniform design, then abstract input datamode and analyze the static modeling and dynamic interaction of the test methoddesign. Finally, complete the generic templates component for test method design, which is able to access HIT-TENA system and shorten the development cycle forconcrete test method design components.Test result shows that the software can realize the test planning function inHIT-TENA and achieve the rapid development of the test planning solution. Finally, generate a complete and reasonable planning solution file, an XML-based file, which records the results of the scenario planning and test method design. The fileis prepared for the run tool. Test method design component has good extendibilityand the software has stable user-friendly interface.
