As more and more data need to be transferred in the system interconnectapplications, fibre channel (FC) technology, which has advantages such as high linkdata rate, long transmission distance and good electromagnetic resistance, has beenwidely used in storage area network (SAN), data quick recovery and avionicsenvironment. FC node test equipment will have broad application prospect as FCtechnology develops. This thesis will mainly focus on the realization of FC nodefunction test module.This thesis firstly describes the function test method of a FC node, andaccomplishes the overall scheme of function test module. Then, for the requirementsof gigabit transceiver blocks’ reference clock jitter and variable frequency, aconfigurable clock synthesis method is proposed, on this basis, we discuss high speedserial communication technique with integrated transceiver and the driver logic forthe DDR2storage unit. According to needs of taking the node function test, a designfor data generating and analysis is introduced in detail, which provides enoughfunction test input data using repeat and periodic send, holds receiving data throughping-pong operation while analyzing data, and relocates address pointer of the bufferto fulfill filter function. Next, we devise four major function units of applicationbased on requirements, plan the layout of analysis user interface, propose dataanalysis procedure according to the storage form of data files and realize functionconfiguration of hardware, as well as data analysis. At last this article presents thetest results of hardware and application.Debugging and experiment results show that, every sub-unit of FC nodefunction test module is consistent with the design and easy for extension. Hardwarecan work in harmony with the application and all function normally, satisfying therequirements.
