The rate biased RLG north-finder system can reduce effectively the infection of therandom walk error produced by the mechanical dither biased RLG passed lock-in region,which has improved the result of the northfinding greatly. The measuring output of therate biased RLG and accelerometer includes floating affected by environmenttemperature and temperature variety of itself, which restricts northfinding rapidity of thenorthfinder.The paper aimed at the pattern of the rate biased RLG north-finder system researchdeeply the rules of temperature error variety and its methods of calibration andcompensation by temperature modeling. Then the experiments validate the validity ofthese methods and the precision is improved. Owing to cancel the process of warm-upafter start-up, the rapidity is improved too.Main researches are as the follows.1. Firstly, the characteristic of the inertial Sensors in north-finder system has beenanalysed. Then the rule by inference about how temperature floating error of the sensorsinfluences the precision of the rate biased RLG north-finder system has beenresearched.2. Accurate temperature measuring is the basic of temperature modeling, so thepaper designs the methods of calibration and compensation for the temperaturecharacteristic of the high-precision temperature measuring system. Then the temperaturemeasuring error of the system that has been calibrated by experiments is received by theleast square estimation method, and is used to compensate the real time. As a result, theprecision of the temperature measuring system is improved, which can satisfy thenorth-finder system.3. The calibration method of the temperature error of the sensors in all environmenttemperature by inference and the method of temperature modeling based on a method ofstepwise regression is studied. Then compensation method is validated by experiments.4. The floating of inertial Sensors is analysed in the point of theory andexperiments. Then the method based on-Pre-filtering is bright forward. And thepurpose can be achieved by eliminating the floating, which is validated by experiments.5.In the laboratory environment, the effects of different calibration andcompensation methods used for the floating of inertial sensors are validated by singleposition and muti-positions experimental projects,and the effects of compensation arecontrasted.
