Since China’s reform and opening up, with continuous development of nationalpower and continuous improvement of the living standards, fitness and body-buildingactivity gains popularity gradually. Fitness and body-building activity gradually formsthe upsurge of national fitness. The upsurge causes the attention of domestic scholarsand specialists. But their study focused mainly on the field of national fitness andfitness and body-building activity. The professional journal of popularizing fitness andbody-building activity and promoting the competition of body-building activity is less.Fitness and Beauty is the first fitness magazine in China, so this paper regards Fitnessand Beauty as the research subject and studies its spread and development ofcommunication.Sport journals in the rapid development trend not only face with the challengesof the network and new media, but also face with the impact of the foreign journalsentering into mainland market. Besides that, local journals have growing competitorsin the market. The market has been divided which makes the journal itself hasincreasing pressure to survive. This paper attempts to through reviewing andsummarizing the developing situation of the mass sports journals—Fitness andBeauty to predict the future development trend and countermeasures. This paperhopes that mass sports journals can have better development in the new circumstancesand provide theoretical methods.This paper uses the method of literature, data analysis and content analysis.Based on three sales theory and the characteristics of the development of Fitness andBeauty, this paper discusses and analyzes the jouranl of Fitness and Beauty and thesituation of Fitness and Beauty.Firstly, this paper summarizes the birth of Fitness and Beauty and describes thegeneration backgroud of the Fitness and Beauty and the influence of development.Then from the acpect of the images of that era and program content, this paper studiesthe birth period, growing period and mature period of that jouranl. Secondly, this paper studies on the current situation of Fitness and Beauty bystatistical analysis. And this paper summarizes the key of reports, audiencecomposition, issuing model and advertising characteristics. Then this paper analyzesmajor problems of Fitness and Beauty. The cost of production is increasing. Theprofit model is still traditional. The internet development disperses readers’ attention.Foreign magazies may bring a crisis.Finally, based on the above analysis and research, this paper puts forward thedevelopment strategies and suggestions. The magazine should strengthen the corecompetitiveness, find new profit model, implement diversified media marketing andstrengthen internatioianl copyright cooperation.
